In the Great Commission, Jesus commands us to “make disciples of all nations.” At Brookside, we take this commandment to heart. That’s why we regularly support three full-time missionary teams and send short-term missions teams out into the field every year.
Get to know the missionary teams supported by Brookside Church:
- Dr. Larry Frick serves as Director of Medical Missions for GO InterNational, leading short-term medical teams to minister with GO’s partners to the poor of the world who have little access to medical care. He is developing GO’s Community Health Evangelism ministry, working with GO’s indigenous partners to establish CHE programs in their communities. He also serves as volunteer associate staff for CMDA in the Lexington, KY area. He has ministered with GO in 14 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Prior to coming to GO in 2008, he practiced family medicine for 14 years in Chillicothe, Ohio. He and his wife Marci live in Nicholasville, KY, and have a daughter Hannah.
- Melanie and Steve Whited serve through Cru by working with international students at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
- Chad and Elizabeth Young serve as regional directors for campus ministries with Cru in the Southeast region. They are pioneering a new ministry to graduate students at Georgia Tech University. They have been a part of Brookside church since Chad worked at Glatfelter (then Mead) more than 14 years ago helping with the youth, children, and women’s ministries.
